The Bees are in their new home

Ryan got the hive set up and the bees transfered to their new home yesterday morning. The queen bee was in her own little cage. The cage has a sugar plug that the bees eat through and then she can get out. The bees had already started building a comb in the shipping box!

Hhe sprayed the bees in the shipping crate with sugar water before dumping them so that they wouldn't be flying all around and it worked! There are 3lbs of bees, he said he thinks that's about 10,000 bees. Then he fed them sugar water to keep them happy. :)

My husband the beekeeper...and his bees: Notice he made room on the platform for another hive. ;)

My new "baby"

I've been wanting one of these for a while...and since my other lens is broke...and since DH told me to get one for my birthday and I didn't (although he spoiled me too much already for my birthday)...and because I will use it to take some awesome photos...I got this today:

Fun on the Fort

We played outside alot today and this evening, and I got some cute shots of the kids on the fort/playset. I took the camera outside when Avery was here but for some reason never took any photos. Next time! :)

No, he's not 3, he's pretending he's Scooby Doo in the Scooby Doo 3 movie. :)

Fun with "The Gang"

Abigail & Caleb LOVE LOVE LOVE Scooby Doo & the Gang, and they have many adventures with "the gang". Today they had them outside playing with them in the huge hole that Molly dug.

Brownie Lickers

We made brownies today and I think the kids like licking the spoon more than they like the actual brownies. :)

Molly

I took Molly for her yearly checkup yesterday, as well as her Rabies and DHPP shot. She did such an awesome job...she's usually crazy around new people. Dr. Donny said that she looks very fit and healthy - she weighed 61lbs

He ran his hands over her skin and kept feeling one spot over and over then had me feel it...he said "not to freak you out but that feels like buckshot (a tiny bb)" Sure enough, that's what it felt like. If so, not sure where/when/how that happened as she doesn't really get to run loose. She might run down through the woods while we're outside but we call her right back. Who knows?

Here's the Molly Mooch (as my Dad calls her)

Mothers Day

Ryan and the kids went out shopping Saturday and came back with lots of beautiful flowers (and a box of chocolates) for me. :)

Sunday morning we woke early and headed to WV to surprise Ryan's Mom for Mother's Day. We were sitting in the pew at church when she came in from Sunday school class and she was so surprised to see us! It was so much fun to see the look on her face. :) Later we went to lunch, then Walmart so Pap & Grandma could get the kids some toys, then to the house so they could play. I got to take a 3 hours nap (Happy Mothers Day to me!!!!) :), then we had to get ready to head home. We did get some family photos (except me,Ryan & the kids) before we left. All in all, a great day!
