Pancakes

Last night we read "Curious George Makes Pancakes" where George and the Man with the Yellow Hat goes to a pancake breakfast and George ends up helping to make pancakes, and he use blueberries to makes smiley faces on the pancakes.

This morning the kids wanted to make smiley face pancakes like George but we didn't have any blueberries, so I said we could use strawberries. While I was pouring the batter I spilled a little drop on the griddle and made a tiny circle so Abigail wanted to use it for an eye, so I had to make more for Caleb. Then of course I had to make the smiles too. :)

Kite Festival

Me & Abigail went to the kite festival Saturday with Mona, Hannah & Caleb while Ryan & Caleb went and did "manly" stuff. :)

It was a beautiful windy day. Basically open your kite and the wind would lift it. So cool!

They also did a tribute to the American Flag and had about 100 people help roll out the HUGE flag and hold it while they played the National Anthem. Then they had the adults hold the flag up and let the kids play under it while they played "God Bless the USA". Beautiful! It gave me chills. I pray that our children will always be protected under the American Flag!

The Bees are in their new home

Ryan got the hive set up and the bees transfered to their new home yesterday morning. The queen bee was in her own little cage. The cage has a sugar plug that the bees eat through and then she can get out. The bees had already started building a comb in the shipping box!

Hhe sprayed the bees in the shipping crate with sugar water before dumping them so that they wouldn't be flying all around and it worked! There are 3lbs of bees, he said he thinks that's about 10,000 bees. Then he fed them sugar water to keep them happy. :)

I've been wanting one of these for a while...and since my other lens is broke...and since DH told me to get one for my birthday and I didn't (although he spoiled me too much already for my birthday)...and because I will use it to take some awesome photos...I got this today:

More Strawberries

We picked 6 more ripe strawberries today. Only 4 made it to the porch and into the picture. :)

Bubble Beauty

Abigail would be happy blowing bubbles all day long if I would let her. :)

Fun on the Fort

We played outside alot today and this evening, and I got some cute shots of the kids on the fort/playset. I took the camera outside when Avery was here but for some reason never took any photos. Next time! :)
