The Bees are in their new home

Ryan got the hive set up and the bees transfered to their new home yesterday morning. The queen bee was in her own little cage. The cage has a sugar plug that the bees eat through and then she can get out. The bees had already started building a comb in the shipping box!

Hhe sprayed the bees in the shipping crate with sugar water before dumping them so that they wouldn't be flying all around and it worked! There are 3lbs of bees, he said he thinks that's about 10,000 bees. Then he fed them sugar water to keep them happy. :)

My husband the beekeeper...and his bees: Notice he made room on the platform for another hive. ;)

Ryan accidentally hit Caleb in the head with the shovel handle.
